Happy June! And happy first day of winter from the southern hemisphere! I’ve officially been in Sydney for a week and what a week it has been. Part of me feels like I’ve been here all my life, but then I get lost in the city or hop on the wrong bus and remember that I’ve only been here for a short period of time. I hit the ground running with the other students since we landed and I am loving every minute of it. Life down here is definitely different than back home, both in good and bad ways; but I think that is what makes this experience even better.

As a group, we have hit most of the hot spots in the city. We learned in our first class, there is a difference between being a tourist and a traveler. There is more to the Australian culture than just driving on the left side of the road or talking with a unique accent and once you realize that, you’re no longer just a tourist, you’re a traveler.

I think my pictures give my time here more justice than my words do, so I’m going to share some of my favorite parts of my trip so far.

Our first Saturday in the city was busy from start to finish. We woke up and headed to the Sydney Harbour Bridge to take in the view of the city in daylight and immediately jumped on a train then bus to Bondi Beach. I’ve never loved a city as much as I love Sydney.

Even though it seems like all fun and games (which it mostly is), our time is Sydney does have some responsibility within our internships and classes. I had my first week of my internship at the clothing brand Rodeo Show and I am LOVING it. I look forward to going to work in the mornings and that’s more than most people can say. I’ve spent my days surrounded by talented and creative girls just as passionate about their job as I am with my internship. I am very excited to share more about my experience and time with this company here in a future blog. Until then,

Cheers!
