Ciao! Welcome to my study abroad blog, where I will be sharing and reflecting on my experiences throughout the semester.

As I take my first-ever trip across the pond, I am filled with excited nerves. I can't wait to settle into Rome, Italy and begin the study abroad experience. Flying from Philadelphia to Rome was an easy process and I enjoyed meeting friends in my program at the airport. The next few days were busy and exhausting, but I was glad to spend my energy exploring and getting comfortable in the city. I will be living and studying in Garbatella, a town in the southern part of Rome. Our area is quiet and friendly, with an easy ten minute metro ride to the tourist spots, yet far enough where we can interact with working Italians and truly experience Rome from the inside out.

Between orientation sessions, my first Italian conversation at the market, and endless Instagram options, I'm slowly adjusting and falling in love with the city. My roommates and I immediately found our go-to gelato place (very exciting and necessary), but stay tuned as we scope out Garbatella's best pizza and cappuccino spots. I hope you enjoy sharing this journey with me!
