The Wheels are Turning

Hello readers! I am a month into my study abroad in Greece, and it has been completely eye opening. I know that is such a cliche way to describe a study abroad, but no term describes it more aptly. Values, lifestyle, history, identity. It's all so different here, in a way that I'm having a very difficult time articulating. Everyday has been rich with experience, and I'm still trying to make sense of it all, but one thing is true...it is a pivotal time for Greece. Parliament Members of the fascist group, the Golden Dawn, were arrested half a month ago, an unprecedented action that leaves most of the Greek population cheering and the rest of them without voice. War refugees and immigrants flood into Athens everyday. Austerity measures and unemployment continue to squeeze , and here I am, in the middle of it, attempting to deconstruct it all. The wheels are turning.

With Appreciation,
Edwin
