In my previous blog post about my work with the MS 243, the Hampole Psalter, I wasn’t able to include any images of the manuscript and didn’t think I was ever going to have the chance to visually share the text online.

Last Friday, however, I received the awesome news that I had gotten permission to photograph the manuscript for research purposes as well as to put on my blog. These photographs were taken with permission from the wonderful Special Collections Centre at the University of Aberdeen’s Sir Duncan Rice Library.

Hopefully these pictures will help illuminate the difference in the color, size, and clarity of the script and illustration what I discussed in my previous post in addition to showing the artistry that goes into making such an amazing text.
