So it's currently 5:30pm on New Year's Eve and I just zipped my suitcase and finished packing (note: not recommended). My plane leaves from LAX tomorrow morning. I remember last January thinking how much time I had to get everything in order. Then suddenly it's December, and finals are happening, and now it’s the holidays, and now family is over, and the next thing I knew, I had 3 days to get myself prepared (again, not recommended).

If you are someone like me, who is constantly planning things way ahead, this can become very stressful. And again, like me, if you are a chronic over-packer, this can also be stressful.

When I left for school, I moved to a new state where I did not know a single person. Initially this seemed overwhelming and I was nervous, but I made some of the best friends in that experience. While going to a new country where I don’t know a single person seems like an entirely different ballpark, I’m excited to meet new people and have new experiences.
