My week with The Weeks (pun intended)

My favorite southern gentlemen have finally hopped the pond and I couldn’t be more proud of my American accent. Anyone who knows anything about me knows that I fell out of a tree but not everyone knows that when I fell out of said tree I missed two concerts due to my being stuck in the ICU against my will. Both concerts happened to be my most anticipated birthday gifts to myself aka The Weeks tickets. By now, I’ve made an unintentional, multi-continental journey to see these kids and they get better every time.

So far I've made it to the Boiler Room in Guildford and The Garage in London which is of course where I got to meet up with my favorite brazilian rap god, Niko Is and his partner Talib Kweli last year. Now, I’m back for round two for what I could only explain as, the polar opposite.

No doubt The Weeks and Apache Relay killed it! There’s nothing like sweating in a crowd full of British strangers and watching America kill it on stage to really bring up the mood in a joint. Remember folks, it’s the memories you form when you make the time that will forever outweigh the exam week all-nighters and essays that should have been written weeks ago.

My biggest advice to those who choose to follow in the footsteps of success; You won’t remember the nights you stayed up until 5am pounding marketing strategies into your throbbing skull. You will remember the night you sat on a dirty tour bus in the middle of a parking lot in England playing music and swapping stories with amazing people.
