I’m choosing to be optimistic about the fact that my time in Sydney is half over. The glass is half full right? I still have three weeks to live it up 9000 miles away from home. Time is flying by and while I’m getting excited to share this experience with my family, I’m even more excited for the next three weeks of spontaneous adventures and fulfilling experiences. I’ll be traveling heaps and can’t wait to share the pictures and stories.

P.S. “Heaps” is my new favorite Australian word.

My time in Sydney would not be nearly as enjoyable if it wasn’t for the incredible people I get to share my time with. I have a wonderful group of new friends not only willing to put up with me but choose to hang out with me. These outgoing, humorous, kind-hearted girls are my favorite kind of people. Even though I think they only like me for my North Dakotan accent (I joke). But I honestly wasn’t kidding about the gelato addiction. Can’t stop. Won’t stop.

And when I’m not eating gelato, I’m getting chocolate wasted at Max Brenner's Chocolate Bar. I’ve never felt so sick from chocolate before in my life, but the fondue, chocolate pizza, and ice cream cookie sandwich was totally worth it. I’d do it again. Probably at least one more time before I head home. Speaking of chocolate wasted, I took off to Hunter Valley over the weekend for a day trip of wine and cheese tasting. I learned the hard way that I’m really not a wine person. Don’t knock it until you try it I guess. However, the beauty of the land, the company, and the experience was one to remember. I also discovered I’m not much of a kangaroo person. If you are on a mission to try kangaroo (like I was), abort. I think the problem was that I ate it on a pizza. I’m considering giving it a second go if I can find it cooked differently…

Due to my obvious intake of non-nutritional food, I had the opportunity to hit up CrossFit Syndey for a few workouts. I have been apart of the CrossFit community back at school for nearly two years now and am definitely missing my coaches and friends.

My favorite workout so far is:

7 Rounds for Time!

1 Rope Climb

10 Wallballs

15 Kettlebell Swings

20 Double Unders

My time: 12:16

I take off for the Great Barrier Reef tomorrow night and I am thrilled. I’ll be crossing a few things off of my bucket list while I’m there. Can’t wait to share everything!

Cheers,
(Second favorite Australian word)
