Hello everyone, I've never really kept a blog before, so bear with me. It's a little less than a week until I catch my flight for Scotland. Well, as of right now there's 5 days, 6 hours, and 49 minutes but who's counting? I've never been out of the country before, and it's only my second time on a plane, so I'm excited. I've had to deal with some bumps in the road before leaving including two of my jobs giving me issues about taking time off, loan problems, and other personal hiccups, but I'm taking this one step at a time and navigating through each problem as it comes.

I recently received my Associate's degree from Northampton Community College, and I need to eventually go back to a 4-year college and get my Bachelor's degree, but I'm going to take a little time off before doing that. After my time at the Scottish Universities' International Summer School (SUISS), I'll be taking a train to London and spend some time there. I've always wanted to go to London, so I’m taking this opportunity to go. I chose to apply to SUISS because I love writing, and I had a professor at Northampton who attended SUISS and spoke highly of the program. He encouraged me to apply. I'm thankful I got accepted, and I get to have this once in a lifetime experience.

My final preparations include: seeing Spider-Man: Far from Home, coloring my hair so it's all one color and cover my grays (yes, I'm 22, and I have gray hairs), fitting in as many appointments as possible, and of course, seeing all the family and friends I can before I go. I have to pack but naturally, I'll wait till the last minute to do so. I did, however, make my list of stuff to bring a while ago. So at least the making of the list is done.

Stay tuned, during my trip I will be writing and or making videos of my trip that I'll get to share with y'all.
