If you're reading this right now, just sit back for a second and enjoy the luxury that is internet access. As the much overused line, "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone," has cemented it's truth in me I'd like to take a moment to mourn the loss of the free Wifi and unlimited phone use I never truly appreciated while I had it. Although England might not offer these much loved American amenities, I've found I'm not nearly as lost as I thought I would be. I might not be able to constantly update my friends on every social media platform possible, but you know what? I'm okay with that.

It could be the adorable accents of the locals or the interesting new sights and sounds of a bustling, British city, but I find myself more and more detached from my phone. I feel free to enjoy what is around me rather than what is in my hand. I'm growing comfortable in this new country, finding my phone more and more of a burden than a blessing.

Although I'm diving head first into a completely new culture five to nine hours ahead of all my friends back home, I find losing myself in a city brimming with life much more comforting than focusing on what my friends and family are doing back home. For now, this is my home. I'm ready for adventure and I'm ready to take every day head on. It might be scary, even lonely at times, but I always have the comfort of the next days adventures to keep me warm at night.
