This past week has been amazing! Over the weekend I went out exploring and had the best time since I have been here! One of my residents from last semester is on FYSAE and we decided to pick a random place and go explore it. This past weekend the choice was Westminster. We got off at the tube stop and stood there and did not know where to go from there. Just standing there we got to take in the site of Big Ben and all of the people walking around the area. It was so nice to be out and about on such a gorgeous day.

Once we were able to get over the amazement of seeing Big Ben we took a right and kept walking. We passed so many beautiful things! From statues to buildings each view was breath taking. As we came up to a sign that said Churchill’s War Rooms we turned that way and saw a park across the way. Running across the street we got to the park and took in the view of all the birds, duck, swans, and squirrels that were there. The squirrels really enjoyed having us there as they played with our shoes and kept chasing us! They definitely gave us a good laugh.

Next we continued to walk and came across the Horse Guards. The building itself was gorgeous let alone the view with the London Eye in the background made it even more special! Unfortunately we had missed the Guard Changing Ceremony but we decided to take a look anyways. As we walked through the archway of the building we saw a group of people standing taking pictures. We both looked at each other with the look like what are they doing. As we walked further we discovered they were taking pictures with guard horses! The horses were magnificent to look at! We each took a picture with them and continued to explore. We eventually walked to The National Gallery where we saw a big blue chicken standing tall as one of the statues. In all honesty I did not expect to see that but it was really interesting and cool!

After that amazing walking tour I got to see a show. I was walking around Leicester Square and saw all the ticket windows for shows. After going around to a few different ticket places I was able to get a great seat to see War Horse! War Horse was absolutely heart breaking but amazing at the same time. It pulled at your emotions so much but I was in such awe over the way they were able to use their props to make the horse Joey so real! I had never seen anything like it! It had me captivated until the very end when everyone stood up and clapped for the amazing cast and crew! I definitely recommend anyone who loves theater to see this show!

Within the next few days I found out my favorite band the Backstreet Boys are going to be in Tottenham Court for a one night show and exclusive premiere of their brand new documentary! I did not even have the chance to tell my parents before I got an email from them saying the bought me a ticket to go see them! Can we just say best parents right there? I am so lucky to have such amazing, wonderful, supportive parents that are always there for me! Without them none of this would be possible!
