Ciao everyone! I wanted to give a little recap of some previous weekend trips around Italy we have taken.

ROME

Our first little trip was to ROME!! We decided to try and do Rome in a day trip which I wouldn't necessarily recommend, but we made it. We woke up at 4 am to catch the early train to Rome and we arrived around 9 am.

We went straight to the Trevi Fountain when we got off the train and let me just say...WOW. I don't know what I expected to feel but as soon as we turned the corner and I saw it, I literally started tearing up.???? Seeing something so intricate like that in person was something else...I will seriously never forget how I felt the first time I saw the Trevi Fountain (call me dramatic I don't care).

THEN we went on the search for breakfast on our way to the Porta Portese vintage market. I grabbed a quick croissant and cappuccino. I didn't get anything at the Porta Portese market but it was so cool to look at all of the little booths. We also grabbed gelato and headed for some more shopping!

After a ton of shopping, we got a quick lunch/dinner and headed off to the Colosseum. Seeing the Colosseum was another crazy moment for me. I can't believe that it was built so long ago and is still standing. There were also ruins of the old Roman town square that were so crazy to see!

After that, it was time to walk back to the train station to catch the 7:30 pm train back to Sorrento!! Overall I loved Rome. I feel like there is so much history to be appreciated, and I will most definitely be back!!

FLORENCE

The following weekend we took a weekend trip to Florence! I was super excited for Florence to see all of the art, clothing, and jewelry shopping!

We took the early train from Sorrento again and immediately searched for a good brunch when we got off the train. We stopped at Rooster and got some pancakes and coffee! Plus, the staff gave us free prosecco since we had to wait a little.????

After breakfast, we headed to Giunti Odeon, which is a movie theater with a bookstore down at the bottom...HOW COOL?! I was obsessed!! I picked up Normal People (my fav book, but Europe cover ofc) and Conversations with Friends, both by Sally Rooney. I could only imagine coming to this place to study or do work with a coffee.

We kept shopping until we could check into our Airbnb. Once we dropped our stuff off at the Airbnb we went back out shopping at the leather markets...and I finally bought my leather jacket.???? It was a big purchase for me but I knew I wanted one before I even left for Italy!

We made our way to Gusta Pizza for dinner before heading back to the Airbnb to get ready for a night out!! We went to The Lion's Fountain which was a cute little pub that had a list of shots with one for every college in the United States...except UNCW ofc so that was a bummer.

The next day, we got dressed and headed out for breakfast. I got a croissant and cappuccino from La Milkeria and it was delish! We stopped at some little markets in Santo Spirito and weaved in and out of shops along the street.

Next, we headed to the Baboli Gardens which made me feel like I was in one of the many fantasy books I've read. It was crazy to finally see grass...like I almost feel nature DEPRIVED. The gardens really put me in my feels and the only song in my head was "Exile" by Taylor Swift.

We grabbed a late lunch and headed towards the train station to catch our train ride back to Sorrento around 5:45 pm.

Florence was such a beautiful city and I had a wonderful time, but I would be lying if I said everything was 100% fine and dandy. While we were out I was dealing with lots of anxiety and I couldn't seem to get myself out of my head. NEVERTHELESS, it was a great weekend.
