Maddie O.

Royal Holloway University of London, England

Hey there, mate! I am Maddie, a singer-songwriter, sister of Kappa Alpha Theta, and junior theatre major from Ohio Wesleyan University. I will be spending the 2015-2016 academic year in what I consider to be the most charming place on Earth: England. For someone who studies theatre, this is one of the best places to be! The theatre world in England is just brilliant. I mean, the West End, the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Globe, what more could I ask for?! After I complete my undergraduate education, I plan to attend graduate school in England and remain there as a professor of theatre afterward. My father’s side of the family is from Slough, a town west of central London. I grew up listening to my gran tell stories about growing up there, and coming to the USA when she was 19. It is very special to me that I will be going to the UK at the same age as when she came here. I am no stranger to the blogosphere, as I have had a personal blog for about 2 years. I started blogging as a way to connect with people from all over the world, and hoped that my posts would help them in their own lives in some way. I have the same goal for this blog! I am thrilled to have you be a part of this amazing journey as I travel 3,829 miles to accomplish my dreams. xx

Last week, I had a show at the Raise and Give Ball. This is the first time in a long time that I can genuinely say I am really proud of myself, and without feeling like I sound arrogant or egotistical. Music is something that is very close to my heart… More

Salty Air, Hippie Rants, and Beauty Marks

Maddie O. December 7, 2015

Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life – and travel – leaves marks on you. Most of the time, those marks – on your body or on your heart … More
