Bannockburn 700--Remember Bannockburn!: Throughout the End of June, Smith Art Gallery & Museum

To mark the 700th anniversary of the battle of Bannockburn this exhibition looks back at the history of the battle site, the Bannockburn community, the impact of the battle on the Scottish nation and how it has been represented in visual art over the years.

Bannockburn Live: 28-29 June, Bannockburn Heritage Centre, 10am

Seven hundred years after Scotland's most famous battle, comes the biggest ever re-enactment. Run by the National Trust for Scotland, the two-day event includes a brutally realistic re-enactment, themed villages with Scottish food and drink, sports, crafts and literature, a children's programme and contemporary music.

A celebration of Stirling's sister city, Dunedin in Florida, a popular tourist destination.

Dream of Stirling: Norman McLaren's Scottish Dawn: 17-22 June, Smith Art Gallery & Museum

Exhibition on the life and work of Stirling-born award-winning filmmaker Norman McLaren.

Music, Comedy and Dance

Let's Dance Festival: Through 21 June, MacRobert Centre

The third round of the festival features more fearless dance performances along with a number of workshops to get everyone moving and shaking (not just the professionals!). There's also special events for kids and school groups, pop-up performances, and a few film screenings for when your overworked feet need a wee rest.

Michael Clark Company: Animal/Vegetable/Mineral: 18-19 June, MacRobert, 7.30pm

Michael Clark and Company present a new contemporary dance work choreographed to a soundtrack by Relaxed Muscle, Scritti Politti and The Sex Pistols. Lighting design by artist Charles Atlas and costumes by Stevie Stewart (Bodymap).

Scottish Chamber Orchestra: 27 June, Dunblane Cathedral, 8pm

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra is recognized as one of the finest chamber orchestras in the world and tours extensively in Scotland as well as internationally.

Armed Forces Day National Event: 28 June, Stirling Events Arena

The military show off their best kit with flypasts of aircraft past and present, displays of the latest military vehicles, a tri-service simulated combat and rescue missions and a huge parade of military personnel and musicians. There's also live entertainment, dancing and a multitude of stalls and displays.
