A Dream of Stirling: Norman McLaren's Scottish Dawn: 11-15 April, Smith Art Gallery & Museum

Exhibition on the life and work of Stirling-born award-winning filmmaker Norman McLaren.

Murikamification: 4-5 April, City Centre

Using the magical, surrealistic stories of Japanese author Haruki Murakami as inspiration, acrobatic dancers use urban dance, hip hop and parkour to weave their path through Stirling city center.

Stirling Threads: Through 6 April, Smith Art Gallery & Museum

Work by 29 textile artists, members of the Stirling and District Embroiderers Guild.

Let's Dance Festival: Throughout the Beginning of April, macrobert

The third round of the festival features more fearless dance performances along with a number of workshops to get everyone moving and shaking (not just the professionals!). There's also special events for kids and school groups, pop-up performances, and a few film screenings for when your overworked feet need a wee rest.

The top folk singer and a former winner of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year award bridges the gap between old and new in Scottish folk music.

James Grant: 5 April, Tolbooth, 8pm

Ex-Love and Money man ploughs a folkier furrow with his solo career.

Edinburgh Quartet: 10 April, University of Stirling Student's Union, 1pm

Scotland's premier string quartet was founded in 1960 and maintains close relationships with composers all over the UK, as well as playing dozens of concerts a year in venues all over the country.
