Scottish Chamber Orchestra: Schumann Cello Concerto

Master cellist Steven Isserlis plays Schumann's Cello Concerto, plus there's Dvořák's' Legends Op 59, Kurtág's Movement for Viola and Orchestra with Jane Atkins, and Mendelssohn's Symphony No 3. Robin Ticciati conducts.

Fields of War

13 November, Byre Theatre, 7:30pm

This year sees the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, the centenary of the escalation of World War I and the bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo. To mark these dates, two award-winning poets commemorate the conflicts of the past century and the human price paid. Their acclaimed mixed media performance The Fields of War combines original poetry, narration, film and specially composed music, together with diary and memoir extracts, evoking war and the losses of war from The Blitz to Bosnia, from Flanders to Iraq.

An informal weekly 5k run in Craigtoun Country Park. Everyone is welcome, no matter how fast or slow (you're welcome to walk the route, bring your dog or push a buggy), so you can use it as a one-off fitness test, a chance to get some fresh air or come every week to try to beat your personal best time.
