Wildlife of the Cairngorms: 27 June, Crail Community Hall, 1pm

Award-winning photographer Laurie Campbell discusses the terrain and topography of the Cairngorms.

Where the Wild Things Are: 28 June, Cambo Estate, St Andrews, 1.45pm

Talk by author Esther Woolfson on the fuzzy boundaries between wild and tame.

Objects Unpacked Series: Curious Coins: 3 June, MUSA, 1.15pm

From Ancient Roman coins to East Asian bullet money, find out more about the University’s coin collection from Curator Claire Robinson.

The Contest Betwixt Fiddle & Harp: 4 June, All Saints Church Hall, 12:45pm

Simon Chadwick, on his Queen Mary harp, plays grand 18th century tunes showing the connections between the old harp music and the newer fiddle traditions in C18th Scotland.

Lectures, Sports and Local Festivals

St Monans Sea Queen Day: 15 June, Various venues in St Monans, Anstruther

The oldest Gala Day in the East Neuk of Fife harks back to the fishing tradition of Scottish coastal villages. A fun-filled family day, the highlight is the arrival of the Sea Queen Party onboard a restored antique sail-boat, while dockside there are stalls, a mini fairground and live music.

Crail Food Festival: 12-14 June, Various venues in Crail

Food and music meet in this local festival. For the foodies there's the Taste of Fife with a producers' market, cookery demonstrations and evening supper, while music fans can expect some top Scottish names. For the children there's a harbour festival. Among those confirmed for 2015 are the St Andrews Brewing Company, Seriously Good Venison and the Pittenweem Chocolate Company.

St Andrews Farmers' Market: 6 June, North Car Park

Organised by the Fife Farmers' Market Cooperative, St Andrews is a busy market with up to 30 stallholders attending on the first Saturday of each month.
