The Ballet of the Palette: Throughout June, Gallery of Modern Art

Ruth A Castle exhibition: Throughout June, The Mackintosh Church
Mackintosh Queen's Cross hosts a selling exhibition of paintings by Ruth A Castle, whose work includes still life in a wide variety of media including collage. Ruth is also known for her botanical watercolours and imagined landscapes and exhibits with the Glasgow Society of Women Artists and Paisley Art Institute among others.
Art, Jewellery and Fashion Degree Show: Through 12 June, Glasgow Kelvin College West End Campus
Head to the Glasgow Kelvin College Art, Fashion and Jewellery end-of-year Degree Shows at the heart of the West End Festival. Come along and be inspired by the designers of tomorrow. Take the time to peruse the work on display, talk to the students about their creations you can even make an inspired purchase!
Ingenious Impressions: The Coming of the Book: 2-21 June, Hunterian Museum & Art Gallery
The first major UK exhibition to explore the history of the printed book, this features treasures from the University of Glasgow collection and focuses on themes such as the transition from vellum to paper, the identity and role of the first printers, the content of the earliest printed books and book ownership and collecting.
Music, Comedy and Dance
Live at the Kelvingrove Bandstand: 7 June, Kelvingrove Bandstand and Ampitheatre, 3pm
Following the arrival of the famous West End Festival Parade in Kelvin Way and the Park, there will be a series of performances at the newly-refurbished Bandstand by community groups and musicians associated with the Parade and with the West End Festival. Details of performers and groups on the WEF website nearer the time. Dress for the weather! No alcohol, please.
BBC Introducing: 7 June, BBC Scotland, 12-8pm
The BBC hosts an outdoor stage of the best breaking Scottish acts including Honeyblood, United Fruit, Jonnie Common, Kobi Onyame, Man of Moon, Sorren Maclean, Ubre Blance and KLOË.
Cottier Chamber Project: 5 through 26 June, Various venues and times
The Cottier Chamber Project is a lively, genre-hopping festival hosted by the enterprising chamber group Daniel's Beard, bringing top-flight professional chamber musicians to the West End and promoting chamber music, jazz, nu-folk and world music to Glasgow audiences. The 2015 festival is bigger than ever, with music from Red Note Ensemble, Concerto Caledonia, Hathor Consort and a jazz programme, as well as dance shows and a late night festival club featuring Mr McFall's Chamber, Moishe's Bagel and the Glasgow Gamba Club.
Always Be Comedy: 11, 18 and 25 June, Kelvingrove Bandstand and Ampitheatre, 8pm
A hand-picked selection of up-and-comers, established folks and mystery guests get together for laughs, games and pure fun.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels: 23-30 June, King's Theatre, 7.30 or 2.30pm
Robert Lindsay and Rufus Hound star in this West End production, based on the 1989 film.

West End Festival: 4-28 June, Various venues and times
Taking over the West End of Glasgow each year, the festival treats the ears to a great musical line-up, tantalises all the senses with a carnival and delves into the creative depths of local studios and exhibitions with the Hidden Lane open days.
Glasgow Mela: 13 and 14 June, Kelvingrove Park
For over 20 years this huge outdoor festival has been celebrating the traditions of Glasgow's many and varied immigrant communities with a mix of international music, dance, activities and stalls.
Art on the Exchange: 6 and 7 June, Royal Exchange Sqaure
Artists and performers – including in visual art, street theatre and music – show off their talent in Royal Exchange Square. Presented by Art on Scotland.
