Game Masters: Through 20 April, National Museum of Scotland

Massive touring exhibition celebrating the varied history of computer gaming. With more than 125 playable games to work your way through, get stuck into arcade games, physical games (thinkDance Battle et al), consoles, PCs and many more. On top of this, there's also displays of concept art, interactive displays and in-depth interviews with game designers.

RSA New Contemporaries: Throughout April, Royal Scottish Academy

The RSA's annual show of work by 72 graduates from the 2014 degree shows in art schools around the country, one of the art calendar's most important showcases for emerging talent.

Hedda Gabler: Through 11 April, Royal Lyceum, 2pm or 7:30pm

A new version of Henrik Ibsen's famous play Hedda Gabler from Richard Eyre, which has been directed by Amanda Gaughan. Hedda's life looks respectable enough – she has a distinguished father, a reputable husband and a good home. In order to inject some excitement into her life, she finds that she must look to the lives of others.

ARTIST ROOMS: Roy Lichtenstein: Throughout April, Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art 1

A three-room display of the work of Roy Lichtenstein (1923–1997), the man who made Ben-Day dots into his signature style. This display brings together for the first time works by the wittiest of the pop artists.

Fully Fashioned: The Pringle of Scotland Story: Beginning 10 April, National Museum of Scotland

An exhibition exploring the central role Pringle has played in the production and design of knitwear in Scotland and around the world.

Georgia Horgan: Machine Room: Collective Gallery, Through 19 April

Writing, images and artifacts related to the proliferation of the textile industry in Scotland and how it affected witch hunting in the seventeenth century.

Edinburgh College Sonic Boom: 31 March, Studio 24, 7pm

Student bands in concert.

Anna Massey and Mairearad Green: 1 April, Edinburgh Folk Club, 8pm

Leading young Scots duo with multi-instrumentalist Massie and border pipes from Mairearad Green.

University Wind Band: 3 April, Reid Concert Hall, 7:30pm

Conducted by Morvern Bel.

Cirque Eloize: Cirkopolis: 1-4 April, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, 2:30 or 7:30pm

Twelve acrobats and multidisciplinary artists present an uninterrupted stream of acrobatics, music, images and drawings accompanied by an original musical score and video projections.

Ceilidh at the Counting House: 24 April, Counting House, 8pm

The Annasach Ceilidh Band provide the live music at this ceilidh dance with a caller.

Northern Streams: 24 and 25 April, Grassmarket Community Project,

A celebration of Nordic and British traditional music, song and dance bringing together top and emerging artists from Scandinavia, Scotland and beyond to Edinburgh on an annual basis. This year's programme includes Oleman, Fjärin and Simon Chadwick.
