Stephenie is originally from Alabama. She earned her BA in Medieval & Early Modern Studies from Dickinson College. During her undergraduate programme, she studied abroad at the University of East Anglia, where she returned to complete her MA in the History of Art. She completed her PhD in the History of Art at the University of Edinburgh in 2018. Her primary research focus is gender representation in Late Anglo-Saxon England. Stephenie has also worked with various student groups, heritage institutions, and fandom audiences to facilitate dialogues around depictions of the past in popular culture. In her spare time, she enjoys reading (the All Souls Trilogy is her favourite), travelling, and taking photos.
