This week for Wellness Wednesday, we are all about the fun!

As we are almost a week into the month of more leaves falling and Halloween we thought it would be a good idea to have some fun! According to William Glasser,  we are driven by five genetic needs: survival, love and belonging, power, freedom, and fun. The need for fun encompasses pleasure, play, humor, relaxation and relevant learning. With that in mind we want to remind students that in the midst of adapting to new classes, getting homework take care of, missing a loved one back home or just feeling deflated by a seriously bad burrito or spoonful of Irish peanut butter, some fun might be the remedy needed!

During the month of October we are hosting a pumpkin carving photo contest. Students can enter by carving a pumpkin on their own or with friends, and either tag us @ArcadiaIreland on Instagram or submit an entry via email. Over the years we have received some very impressive and creative entries!

Our last pre-Covid Pumpkin Carving Photo competition winner was a highly creative Providence College student at Trinity College Dublin. She showed off her pumpkin carving skills with a Day of the Dead themed interpretation!

Go pick up a pumpkin at Aldi, Dunnes, Tesco, Lidl or anywhere else you can find one. Come along and join us for some fun. We will be carving our pumpkin at the Dublin Center and encourage you to do the same!

The best part is that once you enter your submission, you are in with a chance of winning a €50 voucher.

What is not to love about this! Fun and a prize!
