Riverdance

Theme: Global/Innovation Ireland; Imagined Ireland

Always a fantastic night out! An innovative and exciting fusion of Irish and international dance, Riverdance propels traditional dance and music into the present day, capturing the imagination of audiences across all ages and cultures. Riverdance broke all box office records during its world première run in Dublin and has continued to set new records in packed theatres and arenas throughout North America, Australia and New Zealand, Asia, Europe, South Africa and most recently South America.

Assistant Director Gráinne Hand writes 'I can still remember very well the first night of Riverdance. It was 1994, over twenty years ago and Ireland was hosting the annual Eurovision song contest. Now, twenty years later, Riverdance still impresses me and holds my attention throughout.'

Titanic Experience & Belfast Mural Tour

Theme: Global/Innovation Ireland; Imagined Ireland

This one day visit to Northern Ireland in
corporates the best of Belfast! We will begin with a visit to the Titanic Experience, which brings to life the Titanic story through full-scale reconstructions and innovative interactive features; from the shipyard to the maiden voyage to the final sinking of the ship, this is a must-do!

Irish Programmes Manager Jodi Killackey writes 'My favourite element was standing in the virtual tour room with floor to ceiling screens and to watch as it takes you floor by floor, through each level of the ship and to feel like you are standing in the actual rooms on the Titanic'.

Following the Titanic Experience we will embark on a bus tour of Belfast City with a local academic. We will drive along the Separation Walls, erected to separate nationalist and unionist areas of the city; you will have a chance to get out at the International Wall as well as sign the Peace Wall. Our informative guided tour will provide you with useful information and facts on the violent period known as The Troubles in Northern Ireland and the path to peace.

Galway over-night trip with Cliffs of Moher visit

Theme: Active Ireland; Local Ireland

Join us on an overnight trip to the West of Ireland! Leaving Dublin Saturday morning, we will head west to the vibrant city of Galway. You will stay in a central hostel, just off Eyre Square in Galway’s Latin Quarter. We will enjoy a group lunch before heading off on a walking tour of Galway led by a local guide. This tour will give you a real insight into the history, social and musical nature of Ireland’s cultural capitol! Following the tour, you will be free for the rest of the evening to explore and enjoy Galway’s music and pub scene.

On Sunday morning we will head to the famous Cliffs of Moher aka 'The Cliffs of Insanity'. The Cliffs of Moher are one of the most outstanding coastal features of Ireland and are located in County Clare on the Burren’s edge. Rising slowly from Doolin they ascend to over 700 feet (213 metres) stretching south for nearly five miles (8km) to Hag's Head. The Cliffs of Moher are home to one of the major colonies of cliff nesting seabirds in Ireland. This will be followed by a lunch stop in stop in Doolin, possibly Ireland’s cutest village, with time to drop into the local chocolate shop before we head back to Dublin.
