Throughout the fall semester, the Engagement committee, composed of members of the Student Services team, has been reimagining how we engage with inquiries and applicants throughout their journey towards study abroad. As part of this initiative, the committee developed two webinars to help students prepare for their study abroad. Below you’ll find information about each workshop and a recording of the session. Feel free to check out the recordings or share with anyone who may be interested in the content.

Imagining Yourself Abroad: Identity and Study Abroad

Drew Vilierme-Lightfoot and Darius Carey hosted a panel discussion with Arcadia Alumni Ambassadors about diversity, equity, and inclusion on study abroad programs.  Panelists included Akosua Ako-Addo (Arcadia University / University of Aberdeen and Umbra Institute), Erin Delaney (Wooster College / University of Edinburgh) and Liz Murray (Pomona College / Trinity College Dublin).  The panel discussed ways in which they prepared for the culture and climate of their destination countries, lessons learned in country, and connecting with students of their shared identities.

Becoming an Expert Traveler

Alisha Divis and STAMP Tatum Marino discussed the ins and outs of how to become an expert traveler. With the help of input from those who commented on a MyTCGS blog post, we shared how to prepare for international travel, manage airport logistics, surviving your flight, what to expect at immigration, and more.
