Introducing Jessica Byrne, the newest member of the Arcadia Ireland team! Jessica began her first week with a trip to the world of fairies with the Trinity College students, she writes;

On Monday evening the Trinity College Dublin students got together with Jodi and I for an evening of Food, Fairies & Folklore at The Brazen Head - the oldest pub in Dublin which dates back to 1198!

The group met at the Arcadia offices and walked together to the event where they were greeted at the door by Michael who would be the storyteller for the night. The event was held in a little room upstairs, the perfect cosy venue for a night of storytelling!

In between three courses of delicious Irish food such as Beef and Guinness stew or Bacon and Cabbage, the group were entertained by Michael with an introduction to Irish history, enchanting folklore stories about the Irish people's beliefs and superstitions, and even some traditional Irish music played by two musicians. The stories were the highlight of the evening, with Michael telling the group about how the ancient Celts worshipped the sun. As Michael said, In this country, you need a lot of faith to do that!
