Our Spring 2019 students discovered the secrets of this powerful dance!

Flamenco is inspiration, strength and fullness. You can feel its effects in the classroom and outside of it. Get inspirated, dance flamenco and everyone will tell you: Ole, ole and ole!

This type of dance is for YOU…

  • If you are looking for work and express emotions through dance.
  • If you like flamenco and feel the need to know it better and in depth.
  • If you like to learn, surrounding yourself with people and being part of a group that transmits strength and balance.

Do you want to know a little bit more about this typical Spanish dance?

Flamenco in its strictest sense, is a professionalized art-form based on the various folkloric music traditions of southern Spain in the autonomous communities of Andalucía, Extremadura and Murcia. In a wider sense, it refers to these musical traditions and more modern musical styles which have themselves been deeply influenced by and become blurred with the development of flamenco over the past two centuries. It includes Cante (singing), Toque (guitar playing), Baile (dance), Jaleo (vocalizations and chorus clapping), Palmas (handclapping) and Pitos (finger snapping).
