Is there anything more British than a bus tour with afternoon tea?

No, we couldn’t think of anything. So when the opportunity to combine these two things with B-Bakery’s Afternoon Tea Bus Tour presented itself, it seemed too good  an opportunity to miss for our First Years Welcome Event.

September means new students arriving in the London Center, ready to start a new college year studying abroad. Throughout September we will have over three hundred and fifty students coming into London, to go on to study at twenty-four different programs across the UK.

To get the students off to the best possible start, their semester in London begins with a week long orientation made up of informative sessions and social activities. Orientation is designed to get students exploring the local area, socializing with their classmates and equipping them with all the info that they will need to live like a local.

As part of orientation, students studying on our First Year Programs were treated to an afternoon on board B-Bakery’s Afternoon Tea Bus Tour. Riding past iconic sights such as the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, Harrods and The London Eye, this was a great way to see the city for the first time. It wasn’t just about the sights though, the staff on board the bus were extremely helpful and every scone, pastry and cucumber sandwich scoffed was delicious. For many students this was their first experience of Afternoon Tea, and B-Bakery did not disappoint.

This week classes start at the London Center and the opportunity for students to really make London their home will begin. But our hope is that as the semester continues they will remember (and maybe even be thankful for) the mountain of information they received during orientation. All the while keeping in mind those days when London was unknown... and perhaps that particular sunny afternoon that was spent eating scones with new friends on a red London bus.
