The past weekend, we had the pleasure to receive some students from the Fall 2019 program of Granada and Toledo.

We love receiving new students especially from other programs! For us, it is a pleasure to show our beautiful city, that’s why we organized some great activities where the students were able to learn a lot besides the free time they had to explore Barcelona by their own =)

On Friday, the students visited our Barcelona Center and met all the Arcadia stuff. Jaume Gelabert, the Director of the Spain program, was in charge of a lecture about Nationalism and borders. After that, they enjoyed a Catalan light lunch at the center, and with a full belly, they met our tour guide and walked around the Eixample neighborhood. The students were able to see and learn about the Modernist Architecture that is really important in the city! We ended with the master piece of the Modernist in Barcelona built by Gaudí; La Sagrada Familia.

On Saturday, we had our second tour with the same guide that took us around the Born & Gothic Quarter, to see the origin of the city and the medieval times. Then, they had free time to explore the city.

The last day was really fun!! There is no better way to know Barcelona than with bike! With this tour the students enjoyed the beautiful beach of Barcelona, the harbor, Poble Nou District and some parks. After 3 hours of exercise! They tasted a typical catalán lunch in a restaurant and had a toast to say goodbye to this short but great experience!
