With the arrival of summer, certain places of Barcelona change to become an OUTDOOR CINEMA!

These sessions are usually at night, to avoid the high temperatures of the day. The city has several sites that serve as an outdoor cinema, as well as a big selection of films for everyone!

Here are some that are worth visiting this summer :

Sala Montjuïc

This event has been going on for more than 10 years! This outdoor cinema is installed in the walls of the castle of Montjuïc in a mountain of Barcelona.

How much? About 6.50 euros

Cinema lliure to the platja

This may be the most original one– Free movies on the beach!

Here you can see short films and feature films. All the films chosen have been in competition! Most of the films are Catalan and Spanish (with English subtitles), but sometimes you can find a foreign film.

Mecal Air

Located on the terrace of the Silken Diagonal hotel or in the Poble Espanyol. You can watch a series of short films, advertisements or music clips that deal with a specific topic. They are projected in their original language, with Spanish subtitles.

Cinema a la fresca at the Parc de l'Espanya Industrial

Free projections outdoors in the Parc de l'Espanya Industrial!

Puttanesca

Located in the Raval district, this free cycle is named like the typical Italian dish, The Puttanesca, because the theme of the first edition of the event was Italian cinema.

Gandules

Installed in the courtyard of the Contemporary Culture Center of Barcelona (CCCB). Each year, the museum offers a selection of films on its website and people can vote for the film that they want to watch for free! The films are projected in their original version.
