A car boot sale is certainly not an entirely British concept, but a British car boot sale is still a great opportunity for you to immerse yourself in our culture.

Head down to the Southbank Centre tomorrow to stroll through the classic car boot sale of vintage goodies. You probably won't be able to buy yourself one of the vintage cars on show, but there will be plenty more affordable goods on display. The nature of a car boot sale is that you can never be sure what you will find but it is likely that you might be able to snatch up some very British clothes and accessories.

When you have had your fill of browsing the stalls, stick around! The Southbank Centre is also hosting the Cheese and Wine Festival this weekend! What better way to warm yourself up and to rest your legs? The festival is a celebration of Britain's best produce and admission is free.

Studying outside of London? Don't worry! Cheese, wine and car boot sales can be found all over the UK. Take yourself to a more traditional car boot sale, one that will need you to wear wellies as you traipse through a, no doubt, soggy field. Arrange an evening with friends where you sample cheese platters and sip wine (responsibly). Mix with the locals and draw on their knowledge.

Don't hold back, taste Britain!
