Talk of the Town! is an exciting lecture series of guest speakers giving informal but informative evening talks in one of Holborn's most charming pubs.

Come and listen to an acclaimed writer talk about their work, and have the chance to interact with them and your fellow students in a fun and thought-provoking environment.

You will see posters advertising these events around the centre, and reminders will be shared across social media.

Places are free but limited. As a courtesy to fellow students, please only reserve a seat if you are certain you can make the date. If you suddenly become unable to attend, we will make your place available to someone else. To reserve a seat, you must email london@arcadia.edu.

Keith Jarrett - What it means to live in London?

Our first Talk of the Town! event will introduce you to the wonderful, Keith Jarrett.

Keith is a London and UK poetry slam champion and his poems have been featured in The Times, The Guardian and on BBC Radio. His poetry is influenced by Jazz and Hip-Hop, and often has London as its subject: buses, tubes (especially the Circle Line), and the tall buildings that hug the edges of the Thames. His poems are about navigating the broken tracks of city life, about growing up black and queer in East London, about technology and language. Above all, Keith’s poems celebrate what it means to live in London in the 21st century.

For more information, check out the SP15 facebook group. Joining the event on the FB group does not mean you have signed up. To do so, you must email london@arcadia.edu.
