Street Art as Protest

As ever, the first Talk of the Town! event of the semester was a huge success. We want to keep that enthusiasm, and that excitement, flowing - so we're throwing the next event right at you.

Sticking with our Life of the Mind theme, 'Protest', we are looking forward to welcoming Nathan Bowen. Bowen is one of the most famous street artists working in London at the moment. His distinctive soldiers are easily recognisable in Shoreditch (and there are even some in Holborn!). Come along to listen to Dr Richard Maguire in conversation with Bowen, to hear exactly why the artist feels compelled to decorate the streets of the East End and why he wears a fluorescent yellow jacket.

As before, if you would like to sign up for the event, please email Dr Laurence Scott to secure your place. Spaces are limited and joining the facebook event does not secure you a spot.

Talk of the Town! is an exciting lecture series of guest speakers giving informal, but informative, evening talks in a particularly charming London location. Come and listen to an acclaimed writer, or expert in their field, talk about their work. Take the chance to interact with them, and fellow students, in a fun but thought provoking environment.

For details regarding the time and location of these events keep an eye on the Fall facebook group, or on posters around the centre.
