GoodGym helps you get fit by doing good. Groups of runners that combines regular exercise with helping out communities. GoodGym is free. Register online and sign up to group events. Events happen on most days. It is a great way to meet people, volunteer the community and stay fit. Below is an example coming up this Wednesday.

Bankside Open Spaces Trust (BOST) is a fantastic organisation that works in the green spaces around the built up streets near London Bridge and Waterloo, they work with local people to develop parks and gardens so they can relax, kick a ball, grow plants or just hang out.

Everyday (except Fridays) there are opportunities to attend a BOST event. There is no sign-up required and all you need to do is either on your own or with friends drop down to one to the events and help out for as long as you like. 2 minutes or 2 hours, it will still help to produce positive change in the area. There are refreshments available and friendly volunteer to help and guide regeneration learning.

Kensington & Chelsea Foodbank provides a three-day emergency supply of food to local people in need. If you have an interest in fighting food poverty, while building community awareness, this might be the organisation for you:

The Foodbank runs sessions on Tuesdays from 12-3 PM and and Fridays from 1-4 PM. You would spend a typical session preparing/serving tea and coffee to clients, preparing food packages, processing donations and updating/organising the food store. The Foodbank is located in Earls Court, at St. Luke's Church, Redcliffe Gardens. Since the Fall '13 term, over a dozen Arcadia students have volunteered with the Foodbank. Should you wish to give Foodbank a go, please contact Kimberley Aparisio for more information.
