We are so excited to welcome you to England and Wales this upcoming semester! We’ve been hard at work planning some of the best events and experiences that we think will be a great introduction to your new home in the UK! 

Read on below for what we have in store. Event registration opens Tuesday, 7th December at 12 noon (EST) in your Arcadia Portal. And, don’t forget, if an event is full you can add yourself to the waitlist to be notified automatically if more space becomes available.

Please note that all events depart from the Arcadia London Center unless stated otherwise.

Windsor Castle

Just a short train ride from London, we’ll visit the town of Windsor- home to the world's oldest and largest occupied castle. This day trip will include entry into Windsor Castle, where the Queen spends most of her private weekends and where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot in 2018!

Price includes: Round trip train ticket and entry to Windsor Castle.

 

SIX: The Musical on the West End

The West End is London's equivalent to New York City's Broadway and some of the finest productions in the world can be seen here! We’ll get you tickets to SIX, a new musical, which retells the stories of the six wives of King Henry VIII with a pop-music twist. 

Price includes: Ticket to SIX the Musical. 

 

Bristol and Bath Weekend

Get away and visit one of Britain’s most unique and vibrant cities. We’ll stay two nights in Bristol with a day trip to the nearby city of Bath on Saturday.  Bristol is a cultural hub in the southwest of England and home to some of the most famous street art. We’ll have a guided street art tour around the city and you’ll even get to try your hand at street art stenciling.  Bath is a beautiful and historic city dating back to Roman times later made famous by resident Jane Austen.  We’ll check out the Roman Baths, the focal point of the city which has been in place for centuries!

Please note this event departs on a Friday afternoon, it is your responsibility to check for academic clashes.

Price includes: Round trip train tickets from London to Bristol, 2 nights accommodation and breakfast in Bristol, Bristol street art walking tour, round trip train travel from Bristol to Bath, Entry to Roman Baths.

 

Hampton Court Day Trip

Discover the magnificence of Henry VIII’s favourite royal residence on this day trip to Hampton Court Palace in Richmond-upon-Thames. This palace is most famous for its ties to the Tudors, but you will see that many other periods have influenced its architecture over time.

Please note this event will be held during the day on a Wednesday during the Arcadia Center’s reading week, it is your responsibility to check for academic clashes if you are directly enrolled at a British University or are taking hybrid classes.

Price includes: Entry to Hampton Court Palace and round trip train travel. 

 

Stonehenge and Salisbury Day Trip

We’ll take you to visit Stonehenge, a world heritage site and an absolute must-see when you’re in England! After you’ve explored one of the world’s most mysterious monuments, we’ll head over to Salisbury to visit the city’s cathedral which was built in the 13th century. The cathedral is also home to an original copy of the Magna Carta!

Price includes: Round trip travel by coach from London, entrance to Stonehenge, and entrance to Salisbury Cathedral. 

 

Football Match

Get your head in the game at a Premier League football match.  You'll experience British football culture first hand with tickets to a game for one of London's Premier teams! PLEASE NOTE: Group tickets for football matches can only be purchased 2 weeks in advance, so the exact match and date are TBC. If you’re interested in this event, please sign up to the waitlist and you’ll be emailed as soon as tickets are available. 

Price Includes: Ticket to a Premier League football game. 

Wales Adventure Weekend

Join us for a weekend in Wales, and immerse yourself in one of the top coastal destinations in the world. Enjoy an unspoilt, breathtaking landscape, amazing wildlife, Welsh castles and cathedral, awesome Atlantic ocean adventures and tasty food and drinks. Kayak into echoing sea caves, explore the smallest city in Britain and its twelfth century cathedral, visit Pembroke castle, surf on wild beautiful beaches, jump off cliffs into deep green pools as you explore by Coasteering, and relax in the evenings in a beautiful 5 star eco lodge. Please note this event departs on a Friday afternoon, it is your responsibility to check for academic clashes.

Price includes: Round trip travel by train from London, two nights accommodation, all meals and all activities.

St. Paul’s Cathedral Tour

Join us for a guided tour of one of London’s most iconic landmarks. St. Paul’s Cathedral is a Grade I listed building, with the original church being built in 604AD. The dome is one of the tallest in the world, and it is a dominant part of London’s skyline, surviving the bombing of World War Two, and the modernisation of the surrounding city. This event takes place on a Friday afternoon, it is your responsibility to check for any academic clashes.

Price includes: Entry to St. Paul’s Cathedral and a guided tour of the building.

Dover and Canterbury

We’ll head down to the coast to visit the picturesque White Cliffs of Dover! After you’ve had a chance to walk around the cliffs and snap a picture, we’ll make our way to Canterbury! In this charming British city, we’ll have a guided tour where you’ll learn about the city’s rich medieval history. 

Price includes: Round trip travel by coach from London, entrance to White Cliffs of Dover, and guided walking tour of Canterbury.
