Last weekend, we quit rainy London for windy Wales, to enjoy the stunning Pembrokeshire coast.

An ecologically-minded enterprise, Preseli Venture, hosted our group in a lodge nestled in the Welsh countryside, where one could expect to awake to the sound of birds overhead and the sight of sheep in the distance. In addition to hearty meals prepared by Viv and her kitchen team, we enjoyed a menu of sea kayaking, hiking, coasteering and surfing. The following quotes from fellow adventurers ably describe the energy of the weekend.

Surfing was certainly the highlight of my weekend in Wales. While surfing, not only did I get to experience the thrill of catching a wave, I was also able to take a moment and admire the amazing landscape around me. It is one thing to stand on the cliffs and look from above, but it’s another to plunge into the water and look around, to truly appreciate the beautiful scenery. Coasteering was an unique, thrilling experience. Surfing was an amazing challenge and addicting. The hike was the perfect length and the perfect opportunity to see breathtaking views. You don't even realize how cold it was because you're distracted by amazing adventures, views, and food." - Alexandra Forgione, Villanova Student studying at Arcadia London on the Villanova First Year in London Program.

Going to Wales was an exciting and surprising experience. I was interested in the trip because of the active itinerary but taking a long hike along the coastline was incredible. I enjoyed taking a break from the city and exploring the beautiful nature of the U.K. It was also nice to meet with American students and compare study abroad experiences and stories thus far." - Alleya Weibel, University of Illinois Urbana Study Abroad Student. Studying at Goldsmiths University in London.

Thank you to Wayne, Alleya, Alex et al. for making the Wales Adventure Weekend the success that it was – your enthusiasm was unequalled!
