Last Friday we visited Sitges with our Fall 2016 students. This popular coastal town remained as beautiful as always! We had such a great time walking through the historical streets of Sitges and enjoyed the good weather that characterizes this town.

One of the perks of being located in the Garraf area and found between the Garraf Massif and the Mediterranean Sea is that the weather in Sitges is usually mild and sunny. Thanks to that, we could enjoy such nice weather during the tour and relax at the beach afterwards. It actually felt like summer.

There’s pretty much to do in Sitges: you can go to the urban beaches, walk along the seafront, discover the numerous and diverse shops in the town center, go for a walk in the old town, visit the Maricel or Cau Ferrat Museums, have some tapas or seafood enjoying the breeze and the good views of the sea, practice water sports, and so on so forth!

Other than that, if you happen to be near Sitges this week and have the chance to visit it, you will also have the opportunity to see this town at one of its peaks: the Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya (the Sitges’ International Film Festival). If you like cinema, and especially the fantastic cinema kind, this is your festival! This year Sitges celebrates the 49th anniversary of this well-known festival, and there will be lots of events to celebrate it. Among these events, it’s important to remark the Sitges Zombie Walk (more than a thousand people disguised as zombies and walking through the streets of Sitges). If you feel like being part of a zombie movie, the Zombie Walk will take place at 8 pm at the Sitges Town Hall. Oh and, of course, you can also join the walk as a zombie! In fact, from 12 pm to 7 pm there will be a make-up space to get a fearsome zombie look for free, though the places are limited.

The Fantastic Film festival will be going on from Friday, October 7th, until Sunday, October 16th. A zombie walk, lots of fantastic cinema movies, awards, famous stars and directors, fantastic cinema masterclasses, screenings, exhibitions, a unique atmosphere… You will find this and much more in Sitges during the 49th Fantastic Film Festival!

You can check the official website to take a peek at all the events and the ticket prices. Have a fantastic week!
