Another free festival that takes place in our bright city is Mecal Air, the longest-running outdoor cinema of the summer. It is back for an 11th consecutive year in Barcelona, and now available on Saturday nights.

This festival shows short films that are sometimes forgotten by time.

It projects all kind of short films, genres, themes, nationalities, and it has become a reference among the main public and the professional world.

Every year Mercal Air tries to select the best ones and show them in a singular place in Barcelona. This year is in Jardins Elisava, close to the illuminated Tower Agbar, which it also is surrounded by fancy buildings, so it results in the perfect place to enjoy a short film.

Every session is for 30 minutes with a break between them to listen to music, eat something or just stretch your legs.

Short films have double subtitles, in Spanish and in English to welcome tourists and other nationalities. It is free entry, and it starts at 2 pm, and the projections start at 9 pm when it is dark.

As you can see, there are many activities to enjoy in Barcelona in the summertime.
