Last week we went on a little excursion to the Bunkers of Barcelona, and we got some of the best views of our city!

The Bunkers of Barcelona is not only a spot where you can get an awesome 360º panoramic view of Barcelona and the surrounding area. As its "nickname" suggests, the Bunkers are actually the remains of a historical anti-aircraft battery that was used to protect and defend Barcelona from air bombings during the Civil War (1936-1939). Now it makes even more sense the reason why this structure was built on a hill where you can get a 360º panoramic view of the city, doesn't it?

In 2011, this spot was officially opened and the area was restored. The Bunkers used to be an isolated and forgotten area. However, since the Bunkers were restored for the recovery of its cultural inheritance, this site has been visited by a considerable number of visitors.

We couldn't miss the chance to see Barcelona from such a vantage point!

It was windy up there, but the landscape was absolutely worth it. We walked around the remains and identified some of the neighborhoods of Barcelona. We also spotted many important landmarks. It was a great afternoon with an extraordinary view!
