Hungary
Zsuzsa Koncz (born 7 March 1946, Pély) is a Hungarian pop singer, whose lyrics were sometimes highly critical of the country's pre-1990 political system.
Her career started after her performance in the Ki mit tud? talent show of 1962.She has been performing with various bands and musicians over the years, most notably Illés and János Bródy. In the 1970s, she made several successful tours abroad, mainly in Eastern Bloc countries as well as in West Germany (sometimes under the names Shusha Koncz and Jana Koncz in German-speaking countries), but also in France, the U.S., and Japan. She remains extremely popular in Hungary, with some of her songs now part of Hungarian folklore.
Portugal
Mariza, born 16 December 1973, is a popular fado singer.
She was born to a Portuguese father and a mother of partial African heritage. While very young she began singing in a wide variety of musical styles, including gospel, soul and jazz. Her father strongly encouraged her to adopt fado; he felt that participating in the traditional music would grant her greater acceptance in the Portuguese community. Mariza has sold over 1,000,000 records worldwide.
Iceland
Björk, born 21 November 1965, is an Icelandic singer-songwriter. Over her three-decade career, she has developed an eclectic musical style that draws on a wide range of influences and genres spanning experimental, electronic, trip-hop, art pop, underground dance, classical, and avant-garde styles. Critics have consistently praised Björk's innovative approach to singing and composition, her musical experimentation, her music videos, and her distinctive voice; she has been described as "the most important and forward-looking musician of her generation" and "the best non-pop female vocalist of the last 30 years".
