The Japanese Garden in Rome offers a free-guided tour, so we happily rounded up a group of students and headed over to this charming venue for a relaxing afternoon! It is at this time of the year when Japanese do Hanami or the traditional custom of walking between blossoming cherry trees.

Hanami has become an international event increasingly known in Rome too!

Although contained within the premises of the Japan Cultural Foundation, the garden with its cherry trees, wisterias, irises and dwarf pines represents a beautiful example of perfect harmony between natural elements, like the stone lamp placed near the pond, and modern elements represented by the architectural style of the Japan Foundation.
