Festa del cioccolato e delle goloserie (Chocolate festival) - certaldo

November 17th - 18th
 

You will have the opportunity to taste hand-made chocolate in a small town near Florence, Certaldo; it is a medieval town full of archaeological findings and that is why, once you’re in Tuscany region, Certaldo is a mandatory stop. If you loved Siena, you will love Certaldo too.

How to reach it: by train from S.M.N train station (direction Siena. The stop is Certaldo. Once you’re there, the location is only 600 mt. far away).

PrimOlio degustazioni (olive oil tasting) - bagno a ripoli

As you know, olive oil is a typical Italian product. Every year, between the end of September and November, farmers harvest olives to make olive oil. This event is the occasion to taste this year first olive oil. Bagno a Ripoli is a small town near Florence, set in the countryside that is full of olive trees; lots of people who live there have this kind of trees in their gardens and that’s the reason why, during this event you have the opportunity to taste so many different kind of olive oil (almost 50).

How to reach it: by bus 23 from Piazza San Marco, direction Croce a Varliano. The stop is Bagno a Ripoli- I Ponti

Zeffirelli per Firenze: l’alluvione del 1966 (The flood of the 1966 in Florence)

November 17th, at 11 a.m @ Fondazione Zeffirelli, Piazza San Firenze 5

During the visit will be screened a documentary about the flood happened in 1966 in Florence. It’s important to keep the ticket because it ensures free entrance to the museum.

Weihnachtsmarkt- German Christmas market

from November 28th to December 20th @ Piazza Santa Croce, Florence

More than 50 stands, coming from all around Europe, gathered in front the beautiful Santa Croce Church, waiting for Christmas tasting European typical food and drinks.
Beside it, you can find many hand-made products good for Christmas presents.

 

La memoria della Grande Guerra a Firenze - Memories of the Great War in Florence

on Sundays (December 2nd; January 13th; February 3rd; March 3rd) from 2.30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This expo is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War, the event that changed the world of the XXth century. This event is the occasion to discover all the monuments set in Florence in memory of the World War One. The rendez-vous point is at Palazzo Vecchio and from there the visit will continue through the centre of Florence, to end in Piazza Santa Croce.
The visit in the squares will take place in different points of the town, depending on the day the visit is scheduled.

Natus (expo) - free entrance

from November 8th to January 19th @ Basilica San Lorenzo, Florence
 
 

Natus is an expo that mix the sculptures, by Ugo Riva, and the poems, by Davide Rondoni. The authors want to narrate the circle of life, underlining the importance of a theme that, nowadays is controversial: the maternity.
