Rome Marathon & 5K

The Rome Marathon is an excellent opportunity to exercise while you do some sightseeing of the historical wonders in Rome. The Maratona di Roma is in fact, not only a race for athletes but also a leisurely walk to which anyone can participate. Every year more than 80,000 people take part to la Stracittadina, the non-competitive marathon. The start line is placed in front of the Coliseum, and from here the course is a 5km festival of magnificent sights. Among other things, students will run past Circo Massimo, the Altare della Patria, the Fori Imperiali and through a lot of picturesque, narrow streets in the old part of the city, before finishing outside of Domus Aurea – the ruins of Emperor Nero’s Golden House.

Movie night: il capitale umano

Adapted from a novel by Stephen Amidon, but relocated from Connecticut to the wealthy area of Brianza (near Milan), the film involves two families whose fates become entangled after a cyclist is hit off the road by a Jeep.

The movie has been selected as the Italian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards.

A visit to the Forum of Caesar

This visit will allow us to experience art, technology and culture of ancient Roman civilization. Through the audio system and the visual projections students will find out about the role of the Forum in the life of the Romans and of course the figure of Julius Caesar.

The visit features never-before-seen areas of the Forum of Caesar with access to recent excavations.

Rafting

Did you know that at just 100 km from Rome, there is a famous location for rafting? And did you know that the Marmore waterfalls are the tallest man-made in Europe? We’ll spend an exciting day in the Cascate delle Marmore.

It is open to everyone, including people who do not know how to swim. The descent takes place inside the Nera river park, along the 8-km section between the Ferentillo and Arrone municipalities.
