We have a series of co-curricular events on offer this summer to help you explore the country and get to know your fellow students. Sign ups for events will be going live in your Arcadia portal very soon, but you can get a preview of what’s coming up below!

A few reminders:

  • If an event is full, sign up to the waitlist to be notified if a place comes available
  • If your plans change please cancel your place through the portal as soon as possible
  • Please be sure to check the dates of your particular programme as some events might fall outside of some programmes’ dates

And now the events!

June 15 - Belfast day trip

Head north for a day in Ireland’s other capital city! We’ll depart from Dublin early in the morning and have a tour of the city when we arrive. You’ll have free time to get lunch and explore, and then we’ll all visit the Titanic Museum before returning to Dublin. Want more? Turn this trip into a weekend by booking your own travel and accommodations.

Cost: $25

Accessibility: This trip involves walking in an urban environment. The Titanic Museum is fully wheelchair accessible with seating available at intervals through the galleries. Some galleries have low lighting.

What’s included: round trip private coach travel; tour guide for walls tour; entrance to the Titanic Museum

June 24 - Pride movie night

Come to the Arcadia centre for a movie night celebrating Pride Month! Keep an eye out on WhatsApp for an announcement about what film we’ll be watching closer to the time.

Cost: No charge!

July 5-6 - Galway and the Cliffs of Moher

Journey west for an an experience of Ireland’s Atlantic coast. We’ll start with an evening in the lively city of Galway. After an overnight in a hostel in the city centre we’ll head to the world famous Cliffs of Moher on Saturday morning. After lunch in Doolin we’ll bring you back to Dublin.

Cost: $40

Accessibility: Hostel rooms are accessed by stairs. There are shuttles at the Cliffs of Moher to help less mobile visitors access the cliffs. Note: hostel accommodation will be in dorm-style rooms exclusively with other Arcadia students.

What’s included: round trip private coach transport; one night hostel accommodation; entrance to the Cliffs of Moher; lunch in a pub at Doolin.

July 16 - Theatre Night: Dancing at Lughnasa

A classic Irish play in one of Dublin’s iconic theatres! Dancing at Lughnasa by Irish dramatist Brian Friel tells the story of five ‘spinster’ sisters in a remote part of Ireland at the dawn of Irish independence. Tensions between the past and the future, the familiar and unfamiliar, and reality and the way we wish things were -- this opportunity is not to be missed if you have an interest in literature or drama.

Cost: $15

Accessibility: Wheelchair accessibility can be arranged with prior notice.

What’s included: one ticket to a performance of Dancing at Lughnasa at The Gate Theatre.
