Each semester, we plan an excursions programme to suit a range of interests and budgets and to help you explore the UK (and beyond!) All trips will be led by Arcadia staff.

Paid events

Windsor Castle (Saturday the 3rd of February)

Venture into the pages of British history with a trip to Windsor Castle. This tour offers a chance to navigate through one of the world's most iconic and continuously inhabited castles. Get a closer look at eras of royal lineage, from the times of the Norman Conquest to contemporary history, as you walk through the expansive castle, appreciating its vast art collections and structural design. Uncover the nuances of St George's Chapel, the final resting spot for many monarchs. Experience this journey at Windsor Castle, connecting with the stories of past monarchs and the enduring customs of today.

Accessibility: Be ready for some walking; however, routes are accessible to all, including those needing step-free pathways.

Day trip to Bath (Saturday the 10th of February)

Take a day trip to Bath and discover its rich history firsthand. Start by exploring the well-preserved, famous Roman Baths, a testament to the city's ancient roots. Learn about the ingenuity of Roman engineering and the significance of these bathhouses that have stood the test of time. Following that, join a walking tour around Bath. Navigate the city's notable streets, from the architectural standout of the Royal Crescent to the activity around Pulteney Bridge. Throughout the day, you'll get a clear view of Bath's mix of ancient and Georgian influences.

Liverpool Weekend - Regional trip with our friends from Arcadia Ireland and Arcadia Scotland (Friday the 23rd - Sunday the 25th of February)

Discover Liverpool's gritty charm with a memorable visit to this fantastic city. Our package offers smooth train travel from London and a pleasant stay in a hostel, inclusive of breakfast. Navigate through Liverpool's cultural highlights, marveling at its architectural wonders and thriving arts community, guided by an expert tour. Journey through its rich history and be part of its bustling present. A must-visit is The Beatles Story, a dedicated museum celebrating the iconic band. Embark on this adventure to create lasting memories in Liverpool, a city overflowing with historic tales, cultural richness, and artistic brilliance. 

Accessibility: the walking tour is designed with accessibility in mind, but do consider individual needs. Unfortunately as we will be staying in a hostel it will not be possible to make individual accommodations, such as single rooms.

Paris trip (Thursday the 29th of February - Saturday the 2nd of March)

Experience Paris like never before with our three-day trip. Starting with a swift and scenic journey on the Eurostar, we set the tone for an unforgettable escape. On arrival, unlock the city's treasures with a 3-day metro pass, putting Paris's landmarks and neighborhoods right at your fingertips. Dive into art and history with a visit to the Louvre, where world-famous masterpieces await your discovery. Elevate your trip with a serene river cruise on the Seine, showcasing Paris from a unique perspective. And don't just view the Eiffel Tower from the ground – with us, you'll ascend to its summit for a breathtaking panorama. Seize this opportunity to immerse yourself in the heart of Paris, combining convenience with captivating experiences.

Unfortunately as we will be staying in a hostel it will not be possible to make individual accommodations, such as single rooms. If you are a non-US passport holder check if an additional visa is required to attend this trip. Unfortunately it is not possible for those with Visitor status to apply for a Schengen visa from within the UK.

Arsenal Women's Football Match Experience (Sunday the 3rd of March)

Immerse yourself in the electric atmosphere of a high-energy Arsenal Women's football match against Tottenham Hotspur. Located in the bustling heart of the stadium, this event is a perfect blend of top-tier sports action and vibrant fan energy. Cheer on your favorite team, witness the skill and strategy of professional women's football, and soak in the excitement that only a live match can offer. This is your chance to be part of a thrilling sports event, experiencing the game up close and personal.

Accessibility: The stadium is equipped to cater to various accessibility needs, ensuring a comfortable experience for all attendees. Please communicate any specific requirements in advance. While the event is accessible to all, be prepared for the dynamic atmosphere of a live football match.

Price Includes: The cost covers your ticket to the match, guaranteeing a prime spot for viewing. Please note, the price includes the match ticket only; additional arrangements such as travel and amenities are to be managed independently. Stonehenge and Salisbury (Saturday the 23rd of March) 

Delve into the mysteries of Stonehenge, a prehistoric wonder that continues to intrigue scholars and enthusiasts alike after millennia. Complementing this iconic visit, you'll wander through the quaint market town of Salisbury. Here, the towering cathedral beckons, housing treasures like the Magna Carta and the world's oldest working clock. As you stroll through the town, discover its historic markets, welcoming pubs, and enthralling sites. Our package ensures seamless travel from London and provides admission to both Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral. 

Accessibility: Stonehenge's grounds have uneven pathways, and visitors should anticipate some walking with potential accessibility considerations.

jurassic coast adventure weekend (Friday the 5th of April - Sunday the 7th of April)

Unfortunately we have had to cancel our previously-advertised trip to Wales due to the centre there closing. However, instead we will be visiting England's Jurassic Coast -  a UNESCO World Heritage Site well known for its beautiful scenery and for being a paradise for fossil hunters (hence the name - you won't find velociraptors here, but if you're lucky you might stumble upon an ammonite). Join us for this adrenaline-packed weekend and explore this famous area close up as you walk, kayak and coasteer you way through it. 

Accessibility: activities are optional but will involve strenuous activity, walking on uneven surfaces, and water. Participants should be confident swimmers. All safety equipment will be provided and activities will be led by qualified instructors.

Hidden London

Join us for the Hidden London events, a series designed to showcase the city's diversity, history, and unique charm. Each event is carefully curated to offer an enriching, inclusive, and accessible experience, inviting everyone to discover the lesser-known aspects of London and is FREE to attend.

Queer Britain Museum (Friday the 2nd of February) 

Venture into the world of the LGBTQ+ community at the Queer Britain Museum. This dedicated space highlights the pivotal moments and untold stories of the community, offering a profound look into their history and cultural impact. Wander through thought-provoking exhibits that celebrate diversity and promote understanding.

Cat Cafe (Friday the 9th of February)

Experience the tranquility of the Cat Cafe, a unique blend of a coffee house's warmth and the calming presence of friendly felines. Here, the soft purring of cats creates a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding or enjoying quiet moments with a book and a cup of coffee.

RAF Museum (Friday the 16th of February) 

Step into the world of British aviation at the RAF Museum. Discover a diverse collection of aircrafts, from historic warplanes to modern jets, each telling a story of technological innovation and bravery. Interactive displays and multimedia exhibits bring the excitement and challenges of air combat to life.

 

Museum of London (Tuesday the 12th of March)

Traverse through time at the Museum of London. From its ancient roots to the vibrant, modern-day city, the museum captures London's transformative journey through immersive exhibits, rare artifacts, and digital reconstructions of historical moments.

Mudchute City Farm (Friday the 19th of January)

Escape to the quaint Mudchute City Farm located in Canary Wharf. This urban farm offers an authentic rural experience, with opportunities to interact with animals and explore agricultural life amidst the city's hustle and bustle.

Little Venice Boat Tour (Friday 19th of April)

Embark on a tranquil boat tour through the picturesque waterways of Little Venice. Glide past charming houseboats, under quaint bridges, and along tree-lined paths, all while enjoying the peaceful ambiance of this hidden gem in London.
