Wahaj was born in Baghdad, Iraq and has lived in several countries including Turkey, Jordan, Greece and America before settling down in Australia. He is of Chaldean ancestry, and his family has deep roots in Iraq. His academic journey began in the field of Bio-medicine but after years spent volunteering with his local community, he discovered his true calling and pursued his education in the field of mental health. Wahaj has completed a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Counseling, with a focus on student and adolescent stress disorders, as well as LGBTQI issues. Wahaj brings with him, his experience as a student well-being coordinator at two separate high schools alongside multiple voluntary roles in crisis shelters and home groups. He finds enjoyment in photography, hiking, gaming, languages, travelling and history. He speaks several languages including English, Chaldean, Greek, and Arabic.
