As a study abroad student at Queen Mary, you will live on the Mile End Campus in self-catered apartments or flats. On-campus housing is a rarity in London - we only offer two other programs in London that have housing on-campus.

You will be integrated with Queen Mary undergraduate and international students giving you the chance to meet people from around the world. Room specifications vary between houses but generally comprise:

  • 4-11 bedroom flats
  • A mix of shared bathrooms and en-suite.
  • Self-catered - meal plan available to purchase directly from Queen Mary
  • Shared kitchens - equipped with ovens, microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, kettles and toasters
  • Single bed, wardrobe, bookshelves, desk and chair
  • Access to campus laundrettes

Bed linens, cooking utensils, crockery, and tableware are not provided. We recommend purchasing them upon arrival in the UK.

Choosing your Housing

After you complete your Housing Preference Form on Arcadia Passport, your program manager will choose your housing so you can focus on getting ready to come to London. Unless requested, they will try to place you in housing without a supplemental fee. Queen Mary is a large campus with many halls of residence, therefore, the specification of the room cannot be guaranteed so flexibility is required.

If Queen Mary allocates you a room with a supplemental fee, your program manager will inform you right away. For more information about this program’s supplemental fees, please refer to the fee page.

Meal Plan

All housing at Queen Mary is self-catered but there are restaurants on campus that offer a range of meals throughout the day. You can make substantial savings when eating on campus with Curve Meal Vouchers. Various plans are available to purchase online or at Curve restaurants. Find out more here.

Arcadia guarantees housing on all programs. If requested, students can be placed in Arcadia housing. For additional information on Arcadia housing, please see the main housing page for England.
