About
Alex originally hails from Glasgow in Scotland. He earned his M.A. in Art History and English from the University of St Andrews in June 2009, and his Ph.D. in History of Art at the University of Edinburgh in 2016, with a focus on how objects' physical size impacted visual experience and ritual meaning in late medieval France and England. During his doctorate Alex spent time in France living abroad, and he has worked in Scottish heritage, local government and tourism. Alex also teaches medieval and renaissance art at Edinburgh while working to improve student experience. As Student Services Coordinator, he looks forward to sharing how great Scotland is with each Arcadia student.
