Important
Volunteer Coffee Catch-Up
Start your semester with good coffee and even better company! Join us for a relaxed morning chat about volunteer opportunities around Dunedin. It’s a great way to get involved in the community, meet locals, and connect with other students. Plus, we’ll share tips and answer any early-semester questions you might have.
Queenstown Activity Weekend
Experience the adventure capital of New Zealand! Nestled in the Southern Alps, Queenstown is packed with stunning views and endless ways to get your heart racing. Over the weekend, you’ll ride the gondola up Ben Lomond, take on a full-day hike on the world-famous Routeburn Track, and hop aboard the Shotover Jet to learn about the region’s gold-mining past — while zooming through dramatic canyons!
Surf Lesson at St Clair BeachGrab a wetsuit and hit the waves at Dunedin’s iconic St Clair Beach! Whether you’re a complete beginner or have surfed before, this session is all about having fun in the water. When you’re done, we’ll warm up with a hot drink and plenty of laughs about your best wipeouts and epic waves.
Kiwi Kai: Pavlova Making
It’s time to get creative in the kitchen! Learn how to make the iconic Kiwi dessert — the pavlova — and decorate it with your own twist. Work alongside the cook, enjoy your sweet creation, and maybe even win the decorating contest. A delicious way to spend an evening with friends!
Rugby Match – Highlanders vs Hurricanes
Rugby isn’t just a sport in New Zealand — it’s a way of life! Experience the excitement firsthand as we cheer on Dunedin’s home team, the Highlanders, in a thrilling match against their fierce rivals, the Hurricanes. Get ready to chant, clap, and learn about Kiwi’s favourite sport!
Peninsula Bike Ride
Autumn is the perfect time to explore the Otago Peninsula! We’ll cycle along the harbor to Portobello, where a local marine biologist will share fascinating insights about the area’s unique coastal wildlife. After a well-earned break (and some hot chips), we’ll pedal back to Dunedin feeling refreshed and happy.
Farewell Dinner
As lectures wrap up, join us for one last celebration together. This is your chance to reflect on the adventures you’ve shared, laugh over memorable moments, and enjoy a hearty meal at a local Dunedin restaurant. It’s always a special evening — the perfect way to end an incredible semester.
We can’t wait to share these adventures with you!
Each activity is designed to help you experience the best of Otago — from its wild landscapes to its warm local community. Stay tuned for more details once you arrive, and bring your sense of curiosity and adventure.
See you soon in Dunedin!
