Irish theatre is known for its rich tradition of storytelling, blending folklore, history, and contemporary themes. Renowned playwrights like Samuel Beckett, W.B. Yeats, and Sean O'Casey have shaped its global reputation, often exploring identity, politics, and human resilience. The Irish stage continues to thrive, reflecting both the complexities of modern life and the deep-rooted cultural heritage of Ireland. Dancing at Lughnasa is a classic Irish play performed in one of Dublin’s iconic theatres. Written by Irish dramatist Brian Friel, the play tells the story of five ‘spinster’ sisters in a remote part of Ireland at the dawn of Irish independence. Tensions between the past and the future, the familiar and unfamiliar, and reality and the way we wish things were -- this opportunity is not to be missed if you have an interest in literature or drama.
Cost: $15
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessibility can be arranged with prior notice.
What’s included: One ticket to a performance of Dancing at Lughnasa at The 3Olympia Theatre.
