In honor of International Women's Day, Arcadia University Centre in Ireland proudly champions women's empowerment through a diverse and tightly-knit staff that fosters a profound sense of community. Comprising four dedicated members from various cultural backgrounds, including Ireland, India, and America, the staff exemplifies inclusivity, enriching the center's environment and emphasizing the institution's commitment to providing equal opportunities for women from diverse walks of life.

Within the supportive community at Arcadia University Centre, the celebration of International Women's Day unfolds with a poignant recognition of the profound impact of women who have shaped Irish history. Notably, Constance Markievicz, a pioneering figure in the suffragette movement, stands out for becoming the first woman elected to the British Parliament in 1918 and later achieving the historic milestone of becoming the first female Minister for Labour in the Irish government, marked by her bold act of abstaining from taking her seat. Similarly, Mary Robinson, the seventh President of Ireland, has left an indelible mark as the first woman in this esteemed position, earning global recognition for her unwavering advocacy for human rights and gender equality. Adding another layer to the rich tapestry of influential women is Edna O'Brien, whose literary contributions enhance the celebration of female achievements.

Furthermore, we are proud to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of one of our female students, Gwen Draut, who was awarded Outstanding Student Scholar for 2023 from University College Cork program.Her actions not only benefited herself but also supported local charitable organizations and their causes. Gwen's ability to turn a challenging situation into an opportunity for positive impact exemplified resilience, resourcefulness, and community-mindedness, making her truly deserving of recognition and appreciation.
