Juliet Jacques at Talk of the Town

The first Talk of the Town for this semester is here and promises to be a thought-provoking night with a distinguished guest! Juliet Jacques is a well-known award-winning writer, journalist, filmmaker, radio producer, and LGBTQ+ activist based in London. 

Her journalist career relates to literature, film, politics, art, gender, sexuality, and football. Her work has appeared in many well-established newspapers all around the world, with some examples being the Guardian, New York Times, Washington Post, and others. She has published three books, including Trans: A Memoir (Verso, 2015) and a short story collection, Variations (Influx Press, 2021). Her essays, criticism, and journalism have appeared in many publications, from The London Review of Books to Tribune. She has been recognized as one of the most influential LGBTQ+ people and as one of ten British LGBTQ+ writers for an International Literary Showcase

She has also directed and produced short films and documentaries, co-written and acted in films that have screened in galleries and festivals worldwide. Her incredible career does not stop there. Juliet is the founder and presenter of Resonance FM, an innovative and revolutionary radio station that hosts artists, makers, and experts with more than 100 broadcast series. She also teaches at the Royal College of Art and elsewhere.
