Prepare to have your mind blown! The Blue Mountains in Katoomba are not actually blue! Shocking, right? But don't worry, you won't be disappointed by the lush green landscape and rocky formations that greet you instead. Sure, they may not resemble the typical mountains you're used to seeing but trust us when we say the Blue Mountains are anything but underwhelming. Get ready for an adventure like no other!

Our day began with excitement and anticipation as we set off on a journey through the forest with our Aboriginal tour guide, Evan Yanna Murra. We were eager to discover the rich culture and traditions of the Aboriginal people and were lucky enough to have Evan as our guide.

For two hours, we were completely immersed in the beauty of nature as we gained valuable insight into the Aboriginal way of life. Evan's extensive knowledge of the native plants and his passion for natural remedies over modern medicine was fascinating to learn about. We were captivated by his stories about the Aboriginal dream time and their unique perspective on life before modern medicine came into existence.

As we explored the forest, we had the opportunity to taste some of the plants that were integral to the Aboriginal way of life.

Evan explained their uses and significance, giving us a deeper understanding of their connection to the natural world. We were also encouraged to touch and feel the plants around us, further connecting with the environment and experiencing nature in a truly unique way.

Our journey through the forest with Evan was an educational and enjoyable experience, leaving us with a newfound appreciation for the wisdom and traditions of the Aboriginal people.

It was a reminder of the importance of respecting and cherishing our natural world and the knowledge and practices of those who have lived in harmony with it for generations.

After our amazing Aboriginal cultural experience, we were ready to explore the stunning Three Sisters Lookout. The sun was shining bright, adding extra sparkle to the already magnificent landmark and its impressive rock formation. We couldn't resist walking around and underneath the rocks.

As we hiked along the track, we were blown away by the expansive green landscape and the never-ending views of lush bushlands. We saw all kinds of native flora and fauna, it was like being transported into a real-life postcard!

Visiting the Blue Mountains in Katoomba may not give you the exact impression you were expecting, but it will surely exceed your expectations. Our day was filled with adventure, education, and breathtaking views of the natural world.

As we headed back to Sydney, the students were exhausted from the day's adventures and fell asleep, no doubt dreaming of the stunning landscapes and rich cultural experiences they had just encountered. The Blue Mountains may not be blue, but they are certainly a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an unforgettable experience in the heart of Australia.

If you're ever in the area, be sure to check out the Three Sisters Lookout. It's an experience you won't soon forget!
